Donovan Calicker is a Transportation Superintendent with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. In his role, he manages fixed route transit operations and collaborates with system planning and customer service to ensure quality riding experiences for Northeast Florida customers. Donovan received his Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communication from Berea College (KY) in 2010 and graduated with his Masters in Business Administration from Bethel University (TN) in 2014. Donovan maintains a teachable spirit and strives to improve in all facets of life. In December 2020, he was certified as a Business Intelligence Professional with the Transforming Data Warehouse Institute ensuring he stays up-to-date on leveraging data to make actionable decisions. Putting this certificate in action, he was recognized as a finalist for the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Conference for his submission of the “Social Distancing Dashboard” – a tool to help his agency ensure safe social distancing for customer/operators in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. From a volunteer perspective, Mr. Calicker spends his time as the 2nd Vice President of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) – Jacksonville Chapter. COMTO focuses on leveling the playing field for minorities doing business or becoming leaders in the transportation industry. Donovan recently won the Emerging Leader Award at the 2021 National COMTO Leadership conference in September 2021. Donovan’s approach to life is simple: family, faith, order, opportunity, respect, resiliency, education and empowerment. He is a proud husband and father that enjoys running, traveling and bourbon.
